The next morning, the journey began again. We took a boat with Wanau Adventure company, from the port of Labuan Bajo for 3 nights to Lombok - another island about 600 km away. The boat was like a budget cruise, with a few little cabins and a covered deck with mattresses for everyone to sleep on. We secured a corner of the deck and got to know the others on board. There were 30 guests in total, with four staff and our guide Sultane. The boat set off around 8am and we headed for the Komodo islands. The three days were spent either in the water snorkeling, on the islands hiking to viewpoints or sailing. We were absolutely blown away with the sea life that we came across, from swimming within a metre of a turtle, manta rays gliding past us, sting rays and eels hiding in coral and even a shark stole past us at one point. It was mesmorising to see the abundance of fish in the tropical waters and thousands of varieties of undisturbed coral. At night when the sun went down out on the ocean the stars shined brightly, with not another light to disrupt the view. The gang on the boat were easy going and we were sad to go our separate ways as the last day came around.
